    People: 34 Contractors employing 420 Staff working more than over 100,000 man hours; 136 Industry Professionals working over 31,000 man hours

Economic Impact Upon Completion of Phase One*

  • Average increase to Baldwin County’s economic output will be $244 million
    • This economic output equates to an additional 7% of all tourist spending in the South Alabama region
  • Average increase of $78.5 million in payroll to the South Alabama region
  • Employment, (both direct and indirect) will increase to 3,462 full-time equivalents
    • Greatest number of jobs will be created in the Service and Trades Industry

Economic Impact Through Long-Term Build Out*

  • Long-term build out will result in development of the entire 520+ acres, including Phase One slated to open Summer 2017
  • Average increase to Baldwin County’s economic output will be $109 million
  • Average increase of $64 million in payroll to the South Alabama region
  • Employment (both direct and indirect hires) will average 2,072 per year

OWA – Boiler Plate

OWA is a 520+ acre destination resort in Foley, Alabama opening Summer 2017. Phase One of OWA features a Marriott TownePlace Suites, a themed amusement park with 21 rides, and a variety of shopping and dining experiences surrounding a picturesque lake. The beautiful lake is what inspired the name OWA, which means “big water” in the Creek Indian language.

OWA is also home to the City of Foley’s Sports Tourism Complex which offers 16 state-of-the-art
sports fields and an indoor event center.
