seafood dishSeafood lovers know the best time to enjoy bounty from the sea is whatever day it happens to be. Here in Coastal Alabama, we celebrate fresh seafood from the gulf year-round.

Are you ready to sink your teeth into delicious fried shrimp, flaky fish filets, or tantalizing crab claws? Just follow this three-day itinerary  featuring a few of Foley’s amazing seafood restaurants.

Day one:

  • Start your trail with an enjoyable lunch at the Shrimp Basket, 1500 S. McKenzie St. They are famous for their all-you-can-eat specials, perfectly fried seafood baskets and grilled options.
  • For dinner, head to Fish River Grill II,  608 S. McKenzie St. A favorite of locals and visitors alike, you can expect authentic southern-style seafood fresh from the Gulf. Be sure to try their famous swamp soup.

Day two:

  • The Tin Top Restaurant and Oyster Bar,  6232 Bon Secour Hwy., County Road 10, Bon Secour, AL. Another locals favorite, the Tin Top is off the beaten path and well worth the short drive to find it. Be sure to ask your server about daily lunch specials.
  • Wolf Bay Lodge,  20801 Miflin Rd. (County Road 20) is an excellent choice for dinner. The family-owned restaurant has been serving locals and visitors since the early 70’s. Originally located on the north shore of Wolf Bay, the family moved the restaurant to its current location and added another in Orange Beach after a fire destroyed the original Lodge in 2008.

Day three:

  • If you are looking for some “down home” cooking for lunch, look no further than Chick & Sea Foods1127 N. McKenzie St. They offer daily lunch specials Monday through Friday, as well as fresh, local seafood choices.
  • For the grand finale of our Seafood Trail, the Captain’s Choice,  2881 S. Juniper St., might come as a surprise. Although it’s located inside the Gulf Bowl, you’ll find some of the best seafood in town.
