Cool off in Foley, AL

Keeping the kids cool and refreshed during July is a snap in Foley with lots of options for finding a welcome respite on those summer days.

Foley offers two public pools including the Aaronville and Max Griffin pools. Aaronville is open Monday-Saturday and Max Griffin is open seven days a week. It is available for party rentals on Sundays. Call the Max Griffin pool at 251-943-7946 to learn more about water aerobics classes and swim lessons.

If kayaking is your way to enjoy the water, put in at the city’s Graham Creek Nature Preserve and enjoy a quiet cruise on beautiful Wolf Bay.

OWA Parks and Resort offers a free splash pad in downtown and several other features for water adventure and fun. First and foremost being a new water park.

The new water park in Tropic Falls will be open in July of 2022 and officials there are excited at the plethora of fun and relaxing ways to stay cool. If you want to float leisurely around the indoor park, Castaway Creek is just for you. This lazy river will take you on a cool ride around the inside of the park and around all the other amenities featured there.

If you want to combine water and speed with your water adventure there are six slides inside with two built with the bold in mind. Piranha Plunge and Tangerine Scream offer a high-energy experience for thrill seekers. Four others offer a refreshing ride culminating in a cooling splash.

For the little ones, Tuki’s Tower has five slides and kids and mommies and daddies can enjoy it together. Make it a party in the birthday room or restaurant and bar all also inside the indoor waterpark. Future features to be added by the end of the 2022 summer include a surf simulator and wave pool.

Foley is full of refreshing options to not only keep the summer heat at bay but also make it a fun adventure.
