It’s time to get your taste buds ready for the most flavorsome event on the coast! Festival of Flavor is coming up Oct. 7 from noon to 5 p.m. in downtown Foley.
Each year of the festival, vendors and offerings have changed and expanded, making the event a true culinary adventure. Let us whet your appetite with a rundown of some of our favorite foods and drinks from past fests.
A colossal hit last year was the croque canard sandwich from Wolf Bay Lodge. Other items that have been a sensation at past festivals include the crab cakes from Voyagers in Orange Beach, West Indies salad from The Wash House Restaurant in Point Clear, samples of steak from Gilbey’s Seafood & Steak, boudin and smoked sausage from LA Barbecue, and pecan pie cheesecake from Derailed Diner.
Alabama-made wines and beers also get festival-goers talking. Try a muscadine wine from Bryant Vineyards, for example. Or sip one of the many craft beers from breweries like Black Warrior, Good People, Back Forty Beer, Fairhope Brewing Company and Yellowhammer.
The great thing about the Festival of Flavor is you can make it your own unique epicurean experience. And we’ll be right there with you.
