Set next to an Alabama inlet where the tides swell the waters and drain them just as quick, the 6,000-square-foot Tidewater mansion of Swift-Coles Historic Home is the ideal place for those who love history, architecture and art. Step back in time and get lost in the daydream of what life was like in the “Gilded Age.”

Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the home is now operated by the Baldwin County Historic Development Commision.

Self-guided tours are available Fridays at noon to 6 p.m. Last tour at 5 p.m. unless published otherwise.
