Saddle your horses and giddy up to the Jennifer Claire Moore 21st Professional Rodeo, set to ride through Foley on Aug. 2-4. All proceeds from the rodeo will benefit the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation, which provides peer-help programs in Baldwin County. This kid-friendly, outdoor event takes place at the Foley Horse Arena, and is wheelchair-accessible/handicap-friendly.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Bo Campbell Rodeo Productions is hosting the rodeo, which includes Bareback Bronc Riding, Calf Roping, Cowgirl’s Barrel Racing, Cowgirl’s Breakaway Roping, Steer Wrestling and Team Roping.

Kids Zone activities begin at 6 p.m. and are included with rodeo admission. There will be an inflatable obstacle course, bouncy house, face painting, temporary tattoos and games. Horseback rides will also be available courtesy of Oak Hollow Farms from 7 to 7:45 Thursday and Friday evening. Rodeo action begins at 8 p.m. and runs ’til about 10 p.m.

This event is the primary fundraiser for the Jennifer Claire Moore Foundation. In 21 years, this organization has grown and served more than 100 teachers and counselors, 1,300 Peer Help students from Pre-K through 12th grade, and 49 separate Peer Help programs. Peer Helpers focus on prevalent issues in schools, including suicide prevention, and dropout and bullying prevention.

General admission tickets for the rodeo are $15 for adults and $8 for children, ages 3-12. General admission tickets can be purchased in advance or at the gate each night.
