When it comes to family fun, Foley is the place to be. August is Family Fun Month and you can find a plethora of Foley activities that fit the bill.
The outdoor-loving family is sure to enjoy Graham Creek Nature Preserve with almost 500 acres of natural habitat. Activities include a canoe/kayak launch, hiking and biking trails, three disc golf courses, an archery range, and picnic areas.
Get a glimpse of the past in downtown Foley. Holmes Medical Museum is located in Baldwin County’s first hospital, in operation from 1936 to 1958. The Foley Railroad Museum is housed in the Louisville and Nashville railroad station at Heritage Park.
Speaking of railroads, one of the must-see downtown fixtures is adjacent to the railroad museum: the Foley Model Train Exhibit. It’s open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. After a visit to the model train exhibit, hop on the Charles J. Ebert, Jr. Memorial Train as it departs the Foley Depot Museum to enjoy a free ride around Heritage Park.
