If you talk to any long-time residents of Foley, many will be happy to volunteer where they were born: the Holmes Hospital located above Wright Drugs at the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and Alabama 59.

That space is now the Holmes Medical Museum, and it holds many of the original items from what was a 10-bed hospital. It will certainly make you appreciate how far medical equipment has come. It also showcases how a physician and his wife, a trained nurse, worked to give residents the best treatment available from the 1930s to the mid-1950s.
