Handmade ornaments? Check. Jewelry? Check. Holiday kitchen towels? Yep, those too. Find bags, artwork, shawls, woodwork, embroidered items, candles, wreaths, gifts and more at the Trim-A-Tree holiday sale in Foley.
If you are not aware of this annual event, here are some things to know. First up, the Trim-A-Tree Christmas bazaar always begins the second Friday in November and continues through Dec. 21. That makes this year’s grand opening on Friday, Nov. 10.
Secondly, the hours for the annual expo are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Tanger Outlet Mall.
Next up, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the event. For five decades, local artists and craftspeople have displayed their one-of-a-kind designs at the holiday market.
Last but not least, the annual expo is put on by the Foley Art Center, which has been around for as long as Trim-A-Tree. The Foley Art Center started as the dream of 15 residents who wanted to cultivate the cultural development of the children of South Baldwin County. Proceeds from the Foley Art Center and events like Art in the Park and Trim-A-Tree go toward cultural enrichment programs, along with special performances in local schools and a scholarship program.
That’s what we call a two-fer. You get awesome Christmas gifts and holiday decorations while supporting a worthwhile organization that does wonderful things in the community.
